NZPUG Statement on the 15th of March 2019 Mosque Attacks in Christchurch

Tēnā koutou,

The New Zealand Python User Group joins the nation in expressing its deepest condolences to the victims of the terrorist attack at the Masjid Al Noor and Linwood Mosque in Christchurch.  We extend these sentiments to their families, to their friends, and to the wider Muslim community in New Zealand. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un.

We also reaffirm our welcome to all people in Aotearoa, particularly those of the Islamic faith, who seek to learn about the Python programming language and to generously share their knowledge of it.  Whoever you are, you are one of us.  We are all New Zealanders.

We ask all members of our community to extend care and support to those who need help and to seek help as needed.

We further remind our community that everyone who participates in NZPUG activities agrees to act according to our Code of Conduct (https://python.nz/Page/42341 or https://github.com/nzpug/code-of-conduct/blob/master/code-of-conduct.md) and commit to supporting community members who witness or experience behaviour that violates that code.

Peace be upon you, and mercy, and blessings.
