Python New Zealand AGM Scheduled – Nominations Open

We hope you had a great break over the holiday period! As we all ease into the new year and back into familiar routines, Python New Zealand is gearing up for our Annual General Meeting.

The AGM is scheduled for Wednesday, 4th March 2026, from 7:00 pm.

The meeting will be held online, preceded by an asynchronous period for voting on nominated candidates for office, as well as any motions from the committee or members.

Online voting will open from Friday, 20th February. See below for more key dates leading up to the AGM.

Motions, Meeting Links and Voting links will be distributed in due course to members via the contact address recorded in the member register (pythonnz.helloclub.com).

  • Now – Nominations and Members’ Motions Open. See below for details on how to notify us of motions and nominations.
  • Monday 16th February, Nominations and Members’ Motions Close
  • Friday 20th February, Online Voting Opens
  • Wednesday 4th March, 7:00 pm – Synchronous AGM Meeting

Agenda

The business to be conducted at the AGM will be

  • Confirm the minutes of the last AGM and the October SGM
  • Adopt the annual reports from the Treasurer and President
  • Consider any motions
  • Elect officers of the Python New Zealand Committee
  • Consider any general business

Nominations

Email secretary@python.nz with the name and email address of the person you would like to nominate to the committee.

Note that this year, per clause 28.4 of the newly adopted constitution, all nominations are simply to become an officer of the society, with functional roles being appointed and the chairperson being elected by the committee from their number.
